Welcome to the third edition of Kon-Tiki Classical Music Fest with a new twist and two new members of the crew: Christopher Rex, the principal cellist of Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, since many years one of the most renowned musicians and head of several summer festivals in the US.
The second new member is for sure the biggest, not only in size, but foremost known as Great Britains most talented singers ever what basses are concerned. He is also well established as a soloist both in The Metropolitan Opera House and Covent Garden, but also a formidable executor of “Lieder”. At our festival he will sing from Schuberts “Schwanengesang”.
The rest of the crew consists of our beloved cellist Efe Baltacigil, principal cellist of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra with his shiny abilities and face, Cynthia Phelps, principal violist of The New York Symphony Orchestra who trilled us last year, both as a brilliant musician and a most lovable person.
Last but not least: the Coucheron siblings. Julie, the pianist, now well established both in New York and Atlanta who this year will perform not only as a member of a group, but will also show her talents as a soloist. Once again, welcome to all of you to the festival in beautiful Bygdøy in the heart of Oslo.
